JP Paranormal are no strangers to The Manor House of Whittington- we have carried out numerous successful investigations here and have a fondness of this beautiful public house that we aptly call ‘The home of JP Paranormal’. Always a popular venue and this event can sell out quickly.

HISTORY
It was built in 1310 by Sir William de Whittington a knight of arms and owner of the land around Kinver. His grandson was the famous Dick Whittington who went off to London to be become the Lord Mayor three times over. Will you be spotting Dick as it is rumoured that he does return for visits.

During the English civil war in the 1640s, King Charles II used a priest hiding hole in the manor following the Battle of Worcester. In 1711 Queen Anne spent a night at the manor house and the solid oak front door holds one of only two her Royal seals in the country.

In 1788 Lord Stamford changed the manor house into an Inn. He brought the licence and the old sign-board from the original Whittington Inn a few hundred yards away. He also removed the stained glass window carrying the arms of the Whittington family with the de Stafford’s and the Lowes, but a copy hangs up in the room from which they were taken.

GHOSTS OF THE MANOR HOUSE OF WHITTINGTON
When our own mediums hold their breath when driving past this place in the early hours of the morning you know you are about to have a fascinating night ahead of you.

The Ghosts of The Manor House of Whittington don’t just confine themselves to the building. Many drivers on the A449 have slammed on the breaks as the figure of a man crosses the road in front of them, appearing out of nowhere and only to disappear when the unfortunate driver brings their vehicle to a halt. The Manor House of Whittington near Kinver has been a public house for hundreds of years and is the subject of several paranormal stories.

Lady Jane Grey, who was Queen of England for nine days in 1553, is reported to have stayed at there as a child and is said to have returned several times since her execution to appear as a ghostly figure.

The pub is also said to be haunted by a monk who may have been killed when Catholics hid from persecution at the former manor house during the Reformation. If this is not enough how about the spectre that is said, places hands around your neck as you sleep.

Our mediums/ team leaders will be on site to assist you in this hunt in what can only be described as a must do paranormal event.
